An volunteer application should be completed when a non-employee is:

  • working directly with students without the direct supervision of CCS teacher or staff member; or
  • working directly with students regularly (more than once) under the direct supervision of a CCS teacher or staff member.

A volunteer application is not needed for a parent or guardian to attend a field trip with their child if they are primarily interacting with their child only and are not responsible for monitoring more children than their own.  A volunteer application is not needed for a parent to come to a classroom party or event, unless they will interact with students alone or without the direct supervision of a teacher or staff members.
