Competition was stiff this year with teams representing Boiling Springs, Casar, Fallston, Springmore, Township Three, Union and Washington elementary schools, and Kings Mountain and Shelby intermediate schools. All teams gathered at Gardner-Webb University for the 23rd annual mathematics competition. This year’s themed competition was entitled– “Have Yourself a Merry Little Math Day” and inspired creativity and competitive spirit.

When all challenges were completed, Casar Elementary's Number Nutcrackers were the overall problem-solving champions for the day with Boiling Springs' Rounding Reindeer and the Springmore's Merry Mathematicians taking second and third respectively.  In addition, Casar's Number Nutcrackers took first place in two of the major problem solving tasks.  Special note goes to Aubrey Highland for earning the highest score on his team in mental math.

Congratulations to all team members and coaches,
Rhonda Cook and Lynn Kinmon.
