Casar Elementary third grade students recently enjoyed an opportunity to plant the first items in our School Community Garden! Julie Weathers, with the Health Department's "Eat Smart Move More" program visited Casar Elementary to teach students about some of the items being planted in the raised beds provided by the health department. Every student played a role in planting lettuce, peas, swiss chard, and onions. The third grade students will be responsible for watering and taking care of the plants, which will be used as food for families in need.
