First Graders celebrated Dr. Seuss Day on Friday, March 6th in honor of Dr. Suess' birthday, March 2nd. They ate green eggs and ham, made Oobleck and enjoyed a special guest's Read-Alouds from Charlie Cabaniss and Linda Chaney. Students have learned many facts about Dr. Seuss' life including that he preferred dogs over cats.  However, his famous Cat in the Hat character was much easier to draw, so he used a cat instead. Dr. Suess' early books were signed Theo LeSieg which is his name, Theodore Suess Geisel, spelled backwards! We love Dr. Seuss and can't wait until this summer when his new book come out!
